Challenge
Developers frequently need realistic test data for API integration testing, database seeding, and unit tests, but manually creating contextually meaningful mock data is time-consuming. Existing solutions generate random data that lacks real-world coherence. The tool needed to support both SQL and NoSQL schemas while providing an intuitive interface for quick data generation.
Solution
Built a Next.js web application integrating OpenAI's GPT API to generate contextually realistic mock data. Implemented a schema-aware generator that understands table relationships and produces meaningful, coherent datasets. Created a template system for saving and reusing common schemas, with authentication gating premium features while keeping core functionality free.
